The passage of Assembly Bill 2022 (1998) amended Penal Code Sections 12050 through 12054 relative to the issuance of Licenses to Carry Concealable Firearms (CCW). Effective January 1, 1999, California State Law now requires specified training for CCW applicants before a new license or a renewed license may be issued. The course of training must at minimum include instruction on Firearms Safety and the Law regarding the permissible use of a firearm.
Our CCW firearms certification courses are designed to provide the CCW applicant an opportunity to do more than just meet the minimum requirements of the law. Upon completion of our courses, you will have been made familiar with firearms, their function use; made aware of the legal, moral, and psychological aspects of the use of deadly force; been instructed in firearms safety rules and safety considerations, and passed a written test. In addition, you will have received hands-on firearms training and must pass a live-fire shooting qualification course on the firing range. Emphasis is on the safe handling of firearms, the proper use of firearms for self-defense and the defense of others, and the lawful application of deadly force.
Our courses meet the standards for the following counties: Merced County, Madera County, and Mariposa County.
Our senior instructor is Ron D. Garrison, a California Department of Justice and National Rifle Association certified instructor with over 25 years of experience in firearms training.
